Question: Who manufactured this sterling flatware?

I have a set of spoons that are marked "STERLING M " on the back and have a logo of a capital "A " in an oval. There are some decorations on either side of the letter. What manufacturer uses or used these marks? The logo is on the back. It appears to be cast, not engraved like initials are. The "STERLING " and "M " are on the same line and approximately the same size, not bigger like the sample referenced. The "A " looks a lot like Alvin's logo, however; I will take another look to verify.

If the oval with the A is on the top of the ware rather than underneath it is probably the initial of the person who originally owned it. It was quite common at one time to personalise silverware in this way. If you want to find the manufacturer you will need an expert to look at the hallmark, so take it to a good jeweller.
