Question: My dining room is a bamboo green, and the walls going into the living room are?

A light cream beige with one accent wall that is dark brown. I am wanting to buy a dark blue area rug with cream colored designs. Wondering if dark blue and the dining room green will clash. thanks thanks, I hope that I have done this right 022055630_1_244blue rug.jpg18.1 KB the color is baby fern by benjamin moore. http:/ / www.flickr.com/ photos/ 47416112@N04/ 4345775662/ |

I think you have enough colours and should choose a rug blending what you are already using..green/ cream/ brown if you are trying to blend the two rooms together for continuity. If you want to add blues, then do so in accent pieces. |

It depends on the shade of blue. Can you upload a picture(s) to flickr.com and then post a link to the the picture page? It's too hard to say until I see the color/ tone of green. Depending on the shades of the colors, yes they could clash very much OR they could complement each other. |

I think the dark blue could add a nice compliment. Just pick the right blue. Sounds like you have good color sense already. If the rug also had just a bit of your green in it, it would definitely work. Have fun. |

An old adage used to go - Blue and Green should never be seen - but if you like it don't worry about the rest of us, it is your choice. |

Sounds like you have a decision to make. In my opinion I would go with a cream area rug with just a tab of the blue design in it. Make the cream to go with your walls. And then if you want to go with a blue, then do it in decor and accents. Keep the rooms separate and pick colors that coordinate with each room. It is totally up to you, but since I do decor and have looked at the colors you have picked, truthfully I think you will be disappointed. Keep it light and cheery. You will be glad you did. |

Until I read Harry Potter I didn't know that blue and green could go together. Brown and blue compliment each other nicely I use that color scheme also so if you like it go for it. |
