Well my momm wants a dining room set for cheap like under 600. I have looked on craigslist but there is still nothing. Also 6 seat with a china cabinet. It can be used or new. But not like with horrible scratches and stuff like that. Are there any dining room sets that are as comfortable as a sofa?
Whenever it's time to eat, I dread going to the dining room table. It's stiff, wooden, and uncomfortable. I'd rather eat on the sofa, or sitting in the recliner, but that's not very civilized. I'm looking for a sofa esque dining room set. Is there anything like that in existence?Ha,ha, well some of you have suggested that I simply eat on the couch if that's what I like doing, or move the sofa into the dining room, etc. But I've got small children I'm trying to set an example for, so weirdness is not an option, haha, but thanks for the suggestions.

beautifully crafted and looks great. The store owner claims that it is made in Italy. I am skeptical, because every time I ask for the name of the manufacturer they act uncomfortable and they avoid telling me my boss knows the name, no one has ever made this request, I have to find out, etc . Maybe they are nervous that I might go on the internet and try to buy the dininig room directly from the manufacturer. Or, maybe they don't want me to discover how much the cost is.The point is, I feel that I have a right to know exactly what I am getting, especially when I am spending almost $9,000. For all I know, it could be made in China, and is a knock off of an original.This dining room set is made to order or so they claim , is shipped from Italy, and takes about 2 months to arrive. I asked if I can get anything a certificate of authenticity, a paper stating the name and location of the manufacturer ANYTHING but I still have no info. I put down $100 yesterday, and in a couple of hours I will have to remit another $2,400, which is non refundable. Is there anything I can do to find out who produces this furniture, and where it's produced? FYI I am buying this dininig room set in Brooklyn 39th street, around 14th avenue from an area that has several Hasidic owned furniture stores. They all have similar products which they all claim are from Italy . I am buying from my particular store because they have the best looking dining room for the money.

Help with dining room set.?
I was given a Dining room set from my uncle over a year ago. it was from the 1960's but in ok condition. it had some water stains etc so with the help of my mom, i sanded it, cleaned it, primed and painted it all black this was all well over a year ago i used an expensive paint i might add so it's not a problem with cheap paint anyways it looked amazing like something out of the ikea catalogue however now i'm having some issues with it. the other day i lifted up a card that was on the buffet and the paint was missing, and the primer underneath was wet and goopy. it has since dried i don't know what took the paint off, but now i need to fix that spot. how do i fix it without making it look patchy? will i have to paint the whole top? also someone put saran wrap under a hot plate durring a pot luck, and now it has seemed to melt into the table, and there are sharp lines that stick out... i don't know how to fix this. either,. will i have to sand and re paint it also? i really don't want to do all this but i can't afford to replace them either. also my chairs are falling apart.. i have fixed them all as best i can for now. however are there any secrets to keeping them from breaking again? i just can't afford a new dining room set. and these ones mean a lot to me anyways as i got them after my aunt passed away. any advice suggestions would be awesome

I can only do one out of three. I live in a 2 bedroom, 1 and 1 2 bathroom, spacious living room office, dining room and kitchen condo. My old dining room set now only has 3 chairs. but it previously had 4 chairs when i bought it. i don't entertain that much b c i am tight on budget. but i don't really have time to sit down and eat anyway. i feel bad when others come over that they often sit on my couch to eat. the fellowship of eating together is not there. or should i paint my condo? i'ven't painted it since 2001. it is white. it is not that bad, but i guess it is a bit shabby. also, i used to entertain a lot like at least once or twice a week. people spilled so many things on the beige carpet that it looks very bad. but in some places it's okay.when i said dining room set, i meant it with minimum of 4 to 8 chairs, a table, a buffet china cabinet.

My dining room set is from Broyhill, so I know it is of good quality. I opted for acetone removal and sanding because it is huge with 6 arm chairs and acetone alone would be costly. How do I stain or refinish so it looks like it just came from the show room? It was painted white, but had a dingy yellow tint from age.
