Need advanced help with Kenmore water softener?
My 5 year old Kenmore " Ultrasoft 250" water softener is all screwed up. Its salt tank is flooded with a couple feet of water. I have vacuumed it out, but the problem recurs. This means the brining cycle isn't working. I should be getting suction at the venturi housing, but I'm getting water coming OUT instead. I have replaced all the innards of the nozzle & venturi assembly. I have been through all the troubleshooting animations on the kenmorewater.com site 5 times over, and have failed to find the answer.I heard a rumor there's some kind of nozzle or " basket" shaped thing which sprays brine onto the resin bed, and that this can get clogged. Rumor says there are screws to unscrew to get to this part. Kenmore offers no guidance on this can you?

Weird advanced electrical question?
if a panel is buzzing, but only doing so 2 hours a day and doesn't do so when panel capacity is 50 % fully loaded, why is it buzzing than? a customer is telling me it is buzzing but every time i go and check, i hear nothing. looking in the panel, it is fed with 2 4 0 aluminum conductors and a 1 0 aluminum neutral. i do not want to tighten the lugs unless i am sure they are loose. what should i do? is this harmonics on the neutral? the person has 95 % 120v electronic loads fed from the the panel, so i am wondering about that third harmonic.... i am considering having the neutral upsized. very expensive and i need the thoughts of the yahoo community on this.

I applied Sadolin advanced one coat Wood stain to my garden furniture yesterday. When I had finished it looked OK but now after 24 hours it has a rippled effect and has a skin which is dry but wet underneath. Will this ever dry or how do I fix it.
Ceiling Fan wiring (advanced)?
Having a little trouble wiring a ceiling fan, I am DIY'er and have installed quite a few fans before so I know the basics of using a switch and which wire goes where.I am updating a previous ceiling fan that has one switch and was working properly before. When I was taking it down I didn't pay to much attention of how it was wired as I was expecting anything different than the other fan I just installed a few minutes earlier. There are two sets of wires Black, White, Ground going into the ceiling fan box. When I had the old fan pulled out I had not seen this before.Black connected to black White with electrical tape on it indicating hot wire Ground to Ground with the white wire going into it.It threw me for a loop so I left it alone so I connected my new black and blue to the white wire with electrical tape on it and left everything else alone. I connected the white wire from the ceiling fan to the other with the ground and it didn't work.I then tried removing the old white wire from the ground and connecting them individually and still no luck.I then tried connecting all white wires together including the one with electrical tape and no luck and connecting the black and blue to the two black and still no luck. What am I overlooking Missing?I did what Jon144 and J said tried both ways, using the picture then trying what Jon144 said and still no luck.Any other possible combinations?

How can i cheaply cut grass short enough to putt on, without using riding mowers, or anything too advanced?
Over near my friends house, there is a huge, and flat drainage hole thing. I would guess probably like 350 yards long and 100 yards wide The one half is mostly jagger bushes and woods, but the other half is cuttable. We asked the neighbors, who the township told could do what they want with the hole, if we could build a " golf course" in it. They are very nice, and said that we can do whatever we want to it. We have 9 holes, the shortest is around 35 yards, and the longest is probably around 100 yards. To make it easy, all holes lead to the same green. I have a heavy duty weed cutter, which we cut the fairways, tee boxes, and green from, and it probably cuts the weeds and grass to about an inch. This is great for tee shots, fairway shots, and chips, but the only problem is that while on the green, the grass is too long to putt on. Right now, we are just putting with wedges, but it would be much better with real putts. We are only 14, so we dont wanna spend much or any money on this. Our parents would probably put in like $50 at the most It is hard to explain, but it is basically impossible to get any riding lawn mowers down, to cut the grass really short. I have been cutting the fairways, tee boxes and rough with my cutter, and my friend has been cutting the green with a regular push mower. with the mower, the " green" gets cut a little shorter than the fairways, but not much. We dont expect the green to be PGA tour worthy, but just puttable. Can anyone think of a relatively easy, and cheap way of doing this? We also dont want to get professionals to do this, because that would be expensive, and less fun. All we want to do is get the green's grass as short as possible. We have thought of putting a giant piece of cheap carpet which i have over the green, to kill the grass, and just putt on the carpet, we have thought of killing the grass with chemical weed killer, and pretty much everything else. If you have any new ideas, or ways to better cut, or kill the grass, please tell me. Thank you.
Frigidaire washer: cycle knob doesn't advance to the next level?
Hi everyone Our Frigidaire washing machine model number Gltf1240as0 is about 5 years old and used to work just fine, but now the control knob that you use to select the wash cycle is now not functioning properly. It's the type of knob that you " push in" , then " turn" to select your wash, then " pull out" to start the cycle. Normally, when you push it in and turn and pull out, it advances as the cycle progresses. But now it will do whatever it is supposed to be doing at that part of the cycle, but it keeps going, I stop it by pushing out the knob. And push it in and move it manually to the next click. In other words the knob doesn t automatically advance to the next level. I suspect that the know wore off. Any ideas how to make sure what the problem is and how to repair? Our owner's manual does not have any info on how to replace the knob. Thank you.couldn't figure out how to take out the knob, anyone knows?Knob looks like it lodged out of its socket slightly. I wonder if that might be the problem? or maybe it got like that cause i advanced the knob by hand to finish the wash.
