Is it okay to have dining room wall red and family room wall teal? Or do they need to be same color?
When you walk into my home there is one large room which is the formal dining room living room combo. From there it leads you to the family room large and open with 25 ft ceiling . I would like to paint an accent wall in red in the dining room living room combo, so the overall decor will be red. In the family room, I would like to paint an accent wall teal and the overall decor will be teal and brown. Just wonder what interior designers think about this. Should the common areas dining room family room living room kitchen have the same overall design color?

Is it safe to use pressure treated wood for a dining room table?
I was thinking of taking down an old weathered, meager looking fence in my backyard and using some of the 4x4s and 2x4s to build a dining room table. The fence was there when we moved in and I'm assuming it's pressure treated. I know pressure treated lumber is treated with various chemicals. Is there anything in there that would make it sketchy to use for a table?

Is a cardboard roll strong enough to use as a pedestal for a dining table?
I need to build a small dining room table our space is so small that all the store bought ones are too big . I'm thinking of just using a table round from Lowes for the top and a slightly smaller one for the bottom. The pedestal would just be a cardboard roll one of the thick ones attached with a small round piece cut to fit snugly in the cardboard roll. Will this be strong enough? Another option is to do basically the same thing, except use a 4X4 or 6X6 for the actual support and a cardboard roll to cover it.
What do you have or what would be a nice centerpiece for a dining room table?

Dining Room/Study Space?
So my new apartment has a typical one bedroom sized dining area. I would be able to fit a small table and four chairs. The problem is I also need an area in my apartment where I can study, keep all of my books, office supplies, etc. I would like to use the dining space for both. Any idea?? Thank you
